Viewing CISCO SFP-10/25G-CSR-S Optical Module Information On CISCO Switch

        Cisco offers a dual-rate 25G-SR optical module with the model number SFP-10/25G-CSR-S.
        This article describes how to view module information for this transceiver on a CISCO C9500 switch.

        The CISCO SFP-10/25G-CSR-S is a dual-rate module that supports both 25G and 10G operation.
        Accordingly, its displayed port status will differ based on whether the interface is configured for 10G or 25G speed.
1. Port Status of the CISCO SFP-10/25G-CSR-S on a CISCO C9500 Switch
        • When the port speed is set to 10G, enter the command:
        show interfaces status
        This displays key port information including link status, operating speed, and optical module type.
        • When the port speed is set to 25G, enter the same command:
        show interfaces status
        It will show the updated link status, operating rate, and module type for the 25G configuration.
        Port Speed Configuration Commands (CISCO C9500):
        config terminal
        interface TwentyFiveGigE1/0/1
        speed 25000   ! Set port to 25G
        speed 10000   ! Set port to 10G
2. Module Identification Information
        • With the port configured for 10G, enter:
        show inventory
        This displays module type, Cisco part number, serial number, and other identifier details.
        • With the port configured for 25G, enter the same command:
        show inventory
        The switch will correctly recognize the module and display its full identification information at 25G speed.
3. DOM (Digital Optical Monitoring) Information
        • At 10G speed, view detailed DOM parameters using:
        show interfaces transceiver detail
        This shows real-time values and threshold ranges for temperature, supply voltage, bias current, transmit optical power, and receive optical power.
        • At 25G speed, use the same DOM command:
        show interfaces transceiver detail
        The output will include the same set of real-time DOM readings and alarm thresholds under 25G operation.
