Reading internal transceiver data helps monitor link status, optical power, temperature and coding compatibility between modules and switches. We use Moduletek SFP-10G-LR transceiver on Juniper EX4550 switch to show detailed query steps.

1. Transceiver Link Status
        Run command
            show interface <interface-type> <interface-number>
        It displays port information, including interface speed, physical link status (Physical link Up means normal transceiver connection) and traffic statistics for fault troubleshooting.
        Note: <interface-type> <interface-number> refers to port type and number. You can run show interface to check port types. Leaving parameters blank will show all port information.
2. Transceiver Hardware Identification
        Run command
            show chassis hardware
        It shows overall device hardware details, including module type and serial number under PIC slots.
        Run command
            show chassis pic fpc-slot number pic-slot <number>
        It displays slot status, transceiver type, manufacturer, part number and working wavelength.
        Note: The slot <number> can be obtained from the chassis hardware query result.
3. Transceiver DDM Diagnostic Data
        Run command
            show interfaces diagnostics optics
        It shows real-time DDM values and alarm thresholds. Check TX/RX power, temperature and bias current to verify working status of transceivers on both ends.
