Cisco offers the SFP-25G-SL optical module, which supports 25G Ethernet transmission up to 30 m over multimode fiber. Moduletek Laboratory has tested samples of this product to help users further understand its performance indicators and real-world operation effect.
1. Product Description
        The Cisco SFP-25G-SL optical module supports link lengths of 20 m (over OM3 multimode fiber) and 30 m (over OM4 multimode fiber). It requires the host port to enable RS-FEC (Reed-Solomon FEC) mode for normal operation. The official key parameters and physical appearance of the module are as follows:

2. Module On-Board Identification
        The SFP-25G-SL module was connected to a Cisco N9K-C93180YC-EX switch with a patch cord. The test results are as follows:
        • The module established a normal LINK, and the port indicator lit up steadily.
        • The switch correctly recognized the module information, including module type, vendor name, model number, serial number, transmission rate, and transmission distance.
        • DOM (Digital Optical Monitoring) data was read normally, with all values within the threshold range and no alarms triggered.
        • RS-FEC mode was enabled on the host port, meeting the module’s operating requirements.

3. Key Parameter Testing
        Performance indicators of the SFP-25G-SL sample module were tested on a test bench with the module enclosure temperature stabilized at 45°C in the laboratory. The test results are as follows:

        Optical eye diagram testing of the sample module was conducted at an enclosure temperature of 45°C. The eye diagram templates and parameters are as follows:
