Cisco supplies the SFP-25G-SR-S optical module, which supports 25G Ethernet transmission up to 100 m over multimode fiber. Moduletek Laboratory has tested a sample of this product to help users better understand its performance specifications and actual on-board application performance.
1. Product Overview
The Cisco SFP-25G-SR-S optical module supports link lengths of 70 m over OM3 fiber and 100 m over OM4 fiber. This module requires RS‑FEC to be enabled on the host port.

        This module requires RS-FEC on the host ports.

2. On-Board Module Identification
        The SFP-25G-SR-S module was installed into a Cisco N9K-C93180YC-EX switch with a fiber patch cord connected.
        • The module established a normal LINK, and the port indicator lit up.
        • The switch correctly identified module information including module type, vendor name, part number, serial number, transmission rate, and transmission distance.
        • DOM data could be read normally, with all values within threshold ranges and no alarms.

3. Key Module Parameter Testing
        Performance testing was performed in the laboratory with the module housing stabilized at 45 °C.
