Application Of CVR-QSFP-SFP Adapter

        When users need to convert a QSFP port to an SFP port, in addition to QSFP breakout cables (DAC or AOC) or MTP/MPO-to-LC patch cords, the CVR-QSFP-SFP product — also known as a QSFP-to-SFP adapter (QSA module) — can be used.
1. Product Overview
        The QSFP-to-SFP adapter features a QSFP form factor with an internal SFP slot, enabling seamless connection between QSFP-equipped devices and SFP-equipped devices.
        By inserting an SFP module into the CVR-QSFP-SFP adapter and plugging the assembly into a device’s QSFP port, 40G-to-10G and even 100G-to-25G connections can be realized. The adapter acts as an interface carrier for the SFP module in the link.

        Insert a 10G/25G SFP optical transceiver into the CVR-QSFP-SFP adapter, connect a fiber patch cord to the transceiver, then plug the adapter into the QSFP port of a switch.

2. On-Switch Identification Test
        This test uses an H3C S6820-56HF switch as the test platform, covering two rate conversion scenarios:
        • 10G LR transceiver + CVR-QSFP-SFP: QSFP+ 40G to SFP+ 10G
        • 25G SR transceiver + CVR-QSFP-SFP: QSFP28 100G to SFP28 25G
        Before use, the QSFP port must be configured to 1×4 channel mode (4×10G or 4×25G accordingly). The CVR-QSFP-SFP adapter with the SFP transceiver installed is then connected to the configured QSFP port.
        The SFP module achieves a normal LINK status with the port LED on. The switch correctly identifies complete module information, including module type, model, vendor name, wavelength and transmission distance. DOM data is readable, with all values within normal thresholds and no alarms.

        Note:
        Recognition performance may vary due to compatibility differences between switches and QSFP-to-SFP adapters. The switch may fail to identify the SFP module type or read DOM data properly in some cases.
