Dell provides the QSA-QSFP28-SFP28 port adapter, which realizes QSFP-to-SFP port conversion. Moduletek Laboratory has tested the sample product to verify its actual running performance on network switches.
1. Product Overview
Dell QSA-QSFP28-SFP28 is a QSFP to SFP adapter, supporting 40G-to-10G and 100G-to-25G rate conversion. Its official specifications and physical appearance are as follows:

2. On-Switch Identification Test
The test is performed on Dell S5224F-ON switch, covering two application scenarios:
• 10G LR transceiver + QSA adapter: QSFP+ 40G to SFP+ 10G
• 25G SR transceiver + QSA adapter: QSFP28 100G to SFP28 25G
Before connection, the QSFP port needs to be configured into 1-to-4 channel mode (4×10G or 4×25G). Afterwards, connect the QSA adapter assembled with SFP transceiver to the configured QSFP port.
The SFP transceiver maintains stable LINK status with normal port LED. The switch correctly identifies module type, model, serial number and other information. All DOM parameters are within normal thresholds and no alarms are generated.
