25G has become the mainstream fronthaul interface rate in the 5G era and is widely deployed in 5G networks. With the continuous growth of bandwidth demand, high-capacity DWDM technology has gradually extended to the network edge, covering backbone, metro and edge access scenarios. High-capacity networks based on DWDM can efficiently support upper-layer service networks.
25G SFP28 DWDM optical modules are mainly used to meet the requirements of 25G Ethernet and 5G fronthaul services, and serve as an effective solution for line bandwidth expansion. Their typical features are as follows:

The 25G-LR gray optical module uses only a single 1310 nm wavelength, which can support fast and simple site deployment by utilizing idle fiber resources in the existing network. The CWDM colored optics solution can support 6 or more wavelengths, alleviating fiber resource shortages to a certain extent. The most prominent advantage of the DWDM colored optics solution is its significant improvement in system capacity.
Typical 25G DWDM systems currently support more than 40 wavelengths. The single-fiber capacity is 40 times that of gray optics and 6.7 times that of the CWDM solution, greatly reducing the demand for fiber line resources.
