NVIDIA/Mellanox offers the MMA2L20-AR optical transceiver, which supports 25G Ethernet transmission up to 10 km over single-mode fiber (SMF). Moduletek Laboratory tested this sample module to help you fully understand its performance indicators and actual application performance on network cards.
1. Product Overview
        The Mellanox MMA2L20-AR optical transceiver supports a maximum link length of 10 km over standard ITU-T G.652.D single-mode fiber (SMF) at 25G rate. Official key parameters and the physical appearance of the module are as follows:

2. On-NIC Identification Test
        The MMA2L20-AR module was inserted into a Mellanox MCX4121A-ACAT network interface card (NIC) and connected with a patch cord. The module achieved normal link status with the port indicator illuminated. The NIC correctly identified complete module information, including module type, model, manufacturer name, serial number, wavelength, and transmission distance. DOM data was readable, with all values within the normal threshold range and no alarms reported. When the interface was set to automatic FEC mode, it adaptively switched to FC-FEC mode.

3. Key Performance Parameter Test
    a. Performance Indicator Test
        All tests were conducted with the module case temperature stabilized at 45℃ on a professional test fixture. The test results are shown below:

    b. Eye Diagram Test
        Eye diagram tests were performed at a module case temperature of 45℃. The eye diagram and its parameters are shown below:
