Mellanox MAM1Q00A-QSA/MAM1Q00A-QSA28 Module Test Report

Mellanox offers two types of converter modules: MAM1Q00A-QSA and MAM1Q00A-QSA28, which are mainly used to convert high-speed QSFP/QSFP28 ports into SFP/SFP28 ports, solving the compatibility problem between different types of ports. The Moduletek Laboratory has conducted a comprehensive test on these two modules to verify their performance and compatibility, and the details are as follows:

1. Product Overview

Mellanox MAM1Q00A-QSA and MAM1Q00A-QSA28 are high-performance port conversion modules, which are widely used in enterprise-level data centers. Among them:

• MAM1Q00A-QSA is a QSFP-to-SFP converter, supporting 40G-to-10G rate conversion, and is compatible with common SFP modules;

• MAM1Q00A-QSA28 is a QSFP28-to-SFP28 converter, supporting 100G-to-25G rate conversion, which can meet the high-speed data transmission needs of data centers.

2. On-Switch Test (Taking Mellanox SN2410 Switch as an Example)

Test Preparation

1. Configure the QSFP/QSFP28 port of the switch to 4-way split mode (4x10G for QSFP port, 4x25G for QSFP28 port);

2. Connect the MAM1Q00A-QSA/MAM1Q00A-QSA28 module to the configured QSFP/QSFP28 port;

3. Install the matching SFP/SFP28 optical module on the converter module to complete the connection.

Test Results

• Link Status: The port indicator is on, and the LINK status is normal, without any alarm prompts;

• Identification Status: The switch successfully identifies the module information, including the module model, manufacturer, and rate parameters;

• DOM Data: The digital monitoring data of the module is within the normal threshold, and the working state is stable.
