Huawei AR5710S-S8T2X Router Unboxing

The Huawei eKitEngine AR series router (AR for short) is a new-generation enterprise routing gateway device developed by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., integrating routing, switching, VPN, and security functions in one.
Moduletek Laboratory purchased a Huawei eKitEngine AR5710S-S8T2X router, which is used for compatibility testing of 1G/10G SFP transceivers. The following will take you through the complete unboxing and acceptance process.

The standard accessories include a set of screws with rack lugs, non-slip pads, a certificate of conformity, a power cord, and a grounding cable.

The front panel of the router is mainly equipped with four 1G SFP ports, two 10G SFP+ interfaces, eight 1G RJ45 ports (four of which are multiplexed with the SFP ports), two 2.5G RJ45 ports (multiplexed with the SFP+ ports), one USB port, and one RJ45 console port. The rear panel is mainly equipped with a power inlet.

Connect the power cord to power on the device; the router starts up with no obvious noise.

Use an RJ45-to-DB9 serial cable to connect to the router through the console port. The device’s default baud rate is 9600, and there is no default account or password. After logging in to the console, execute the command:
display version
to view the device model and system version information.
Insert a Moduletek 10G LR optical transceiver into the SFP+ port; the router can normally recognize the transceiver type.
