Aruba offers the JL307A high-speed cable, which supports short-distance 100G Ethernet applications. Moduletek Laboratory conducted sampling tests on this product to further understand its performance indicators and real-world application effect.
1. Product Description
The Aruba JL307A high-speed cable supports a 3m link length for 100G copper transmission. The official key parameters and physical appearance of the cable are as follows:

2. On-Board Identification Test
Connect the JL307A high-speed cable to an Aruba 8325-48y8c switch. The cable can establish a normal link, and the port indicator lights up. The switch can normally recognize the cable information at both ends, including cable type, model, vendor name, serial number, and transmission distance, with no alarm phenomenon.

3. Key Parameter Testing
3.1 S-Parameter Test
At room temperature, a network analyzer was used to test the S-parameters of the cable at both ends. The test results are as follows:

According to the IEEE 802.3 2022 Edition 110.10 Cable Insertion Loss Classification Standard, the Aruba JL307A has a maximum insertion loss of 13.79dB, which complies with the insertion loss class CA-25G-N (Cable Assembly No-FEC). This class is suitable for use between two PHYs operating in no-FEC mode. For more information about cable class descriptions, refer to the Classification Of 25G DAC FEC Classes.
3.2 Impedance Test
At room temperature, an oscilloscope was used to test the differential impedance of the cable at both ends. The test data complies with the 100-ohm differential impedance standard. The test data for one of the channels is listed below:
