Typically, a console user account and password are configured when a user logs in by the switch's console port, these are used for authentication purposes to prevent unauthorized access, thereby maintaining operational security and protecting data. So what to do if this password is forgotten?
       In this session, Moduletek Laboratory will take the MELLANOX SB7800 switch as an example to demonstrate how to reset the password using the RESET button when the console user password of a MELLANOX switch is forgotten.
        Find the RESET button of the switch, this case is MELLANOX MSB7800-ES2F switch, the RESET button is located next to the network management interface on the rear panel, with R character identification;

        The RESET button is usually embedded in the switch panel, which is designed to avoid accidental touching; with the help of tweezers or fine needles and other tools, press and hold the RESET button for 15 seconds (the required time may be different for different models, which can be referred to the user manual of the device), and the system will reboot automatically;

        During reboot, the system will delete the password and reset the system configuration automatically;
         You can use the default account "admin" to log in the switch without password after the switch finishes booting; Under global configuration, execute the command "username username password password"  to reconfigure the console port login account/password.
