How To Read Optical Module Information On Ruijie Switches

        When an optical module is deployed on a switch, it is necessary to read its internal information to monitor the operating status, such as link connection state, real-time optical power, temperature and other parameters. Meanwhile, reading module information can verify encoding compatibility between the optical module and the switch.
        This article takes the Moduletek QSFP-100G-SR4 optical module connected to a Ruijie RG-S6510-48VS8CQ-X switch as an example, and introduces the method to query information of the inserted optical module on Ruijie switches.

1. Check Optical Module Status
        Run the command below to view interface status information:
            show interface <interface-name> status
        Run the following command to obtain more detailed interface information including interface statistics:
            show interface <interface-name>
        The output includes interface speed, duplex mode, module type, link status and other contents. A link status of Up is the prerequisite for normal operation of the optical module.
    Explanation:
        interface-name represents the port number where the optical module is located. You can view all port numbers by running:
            show interface status
        You can also confirm the port number according to the switch panel. If you do not enter the interface name, the system will display information of all interfaces by default.
2. Optical Module Identification and Diagnosis
        Run the following command to view the identification information and digital diagnosis data of the optical module on the specified interface:
            show interface <interface-name> transceiver
        The command output contains two parts:
            1. Module identification information: including module type, wavelength, serial number, transmission distance and other basic parameters.
            2. Real-time digital diagnosis data, which can determine whether the optical modules at both ends of the link work normally.
