Cisco releases the optical module model SFP-1G-LH, which supports 1G rate connection over 10G switch interfaces. Moduletek Laboratory has conducted sample testing on this module to help users understand its actual application performance.
1. Product Overview
The Cisco SFP-1G-LH module works on 10G-rate ports, but is incompatible with ports that only support 1G speed. Its official specifications and physical appearance are shown below.
Table 1 SFP-1G-LH Product Information
  Product Description
  Product Number
1000BASE-LX/LH long wavelength module for 10GE ports
  SFP-1G-LH
1000BASE-LX / LH SFP for single mode fiber and multimode fiber
THE SFP-1G-LH module operates in 10G, 10/25G dual rate and 10/25/50G tri-rate ports of Cisco switches and routers but provides 1G connectivity . The SFP-1G-LH interoperates with 1000BASE-LX/LH modules.
The SFP -1G- LH module will only operate in 10G capable ports and will not operate in 1G only ports.

2. Module Practical Performance Test
The SFP-1G-LH module was inserted into a Cisco C9500X-60L40 switch running IOS XE 17.14.01. The SFP ports on this device support 10/25/50G rate.
We used optical fiber to connect it with the GLC-LH-SMD module on a Cisco WS-C3560CX-8XPD-S switch. The link established normally at 1G speed and data transmission worked stably.
The switch can correctly identify module information such as model and serial number; no alarm is generated, and DOM data displays normally.
