Moduletek Laboratory purchased the FS S3150-8T2FP switch for testing 1G SFP product series. This article details its unboxing process and basic acceptance.

1. Product Unboxing
        The switch’s outer packaging is printed with the FS logo and affixed with product labels, which include the device model, product description, and appearance image.

        The package includes one main switch unit, supporting paper documents (including a quick installation guide), and accessories: power cord, serial cable, grounding wire, mounting angle brackets, and anti-slip pads.

        The front panel of the FS S3150-8T2FP switch is equipped with 8 × 10/100/1000Base RJ45 PoE+ ports, 2 × 100/1000Base SFP ports, and 1 × RJ45 serial port. The rear panel integrates a built-in AC power interface.

2. Device Management
        The switch supports management via Command Line Interface (CLI) and Web Graphical User Interface (Web GUI).
        Power on the device by connecting the power cord. Use a standard RJ45-to-DB9 serial cable to connect a PC to the switch’s serial port.
            • Default baud rate: 115200
            • Default username/password: admin/admin
              Log in to the device console.

        Connect the Moduletek SFP-GE-LX module and patch cord to the FS S3150-8T2FP switch. The module establishes a normal link, with the port indicator illuminated. Run the command below to check interface status, optical module identification, and DOM information:
            show interfaces <interface-type> <interface-id>
        Connect the PC to any RJ45 port of the switch (default management IP: 192.168.1.1) and access the Web management page via a local browser:
            • Click the Port Panel menu to view port status indicators directly.
            • Navigate to Device Status > Port Status to check port duplex mode and running speed.

        On the Web page, go to Device Status > Optical Module Information to view real-time DOM data of the optical module.
