NETGEAR is a U.S.-based network equipment manufacturer and wireless networking solution provider, developing and selling routers, firewalls, switches, network storage devices, and wireless equipment. Founded in 1996, it entered the Chinese market in 2002.
Moduletek Laboratory purchased a NETGEAR M4250-26G4XF-PoE+ (model: GSM4230PX) switch to test our 1G/10G SFP product series. Below is a complete unboxing and acceptance process.

The package includes one switch chassis and one accessory box containing: a 3-prong AC power cord, a 2-prong AC power cord, an RJ45-to-RS232 console cable, a USB-A-to-USB-C control cable, mounting screws & rack brackets, a user manual, and a warranty card.

The front panel features port status indicators, 1× USB-A storage port, and 1× USB-C control port. The rear panel is equipped with 26× RJ45 ports, 4× SFP+ ports, 1× USB-C console port, 1× RJ45 console port, 1× out-of-band management port, and 1× power jack with a dedicated on/off switch.

After connecting the power cord and powering on the switch, the corresponding port indicators on both front and rear panels light up simultaneously when RJ45 twisted-pair cables or SFP+ DAC cables are connected—this design allows users to monitor port status in real time.

To access the switch via the console: Connect a PC to the switch using an RJ45-to-DB9 console cable. The default console parameters are: baud rate 115200, username admin, password admin123. After logging in, run the command below to view the device model and system firmware version.
show version
The SFP+ ports support 1G and 10G transmission rates. To adjust the interface rate, enter interface configuration mode and run the command below to set the rate and duplex mode.
speed <speed> duplex <mode>
Note: <speed> and <mode> represent available configuration options. Enter ? under the speed prompt to view all supported commands.
